Grow your Blog 2015

I partispated in last years Grow you Blog party hosted by Vicky, this year she is hosting it again approx 400 people have signed up to the party.
Hello my name is Jayne, I love wandering through blog land which I generally do through visiting other peoples blog lists, Last year I came across 2 Bags Full who was hosting an international blog party(see button in side bar) and HERE (for blog lists) I decided to join in.

I have been a Midwife for over 20 years and have worked for the NHS 30 years, I work as a Delivery Suite Co-ordinator which is a clinical managers post so I am fortunate to delivery a lot of babies.
I have had a blog for 6 years I started it because I started doing exchanges and you had to have a blog to be a member of some sites, over the years I have received some lovely things through the post which I love, my Christmas Tree this year was covered in stitched ornaments most of which I have received in exchanges,

like to participate in stitch-a-longs(sals). So you could say I like to do anything which involves a needle or a hook.
I have knitted for years I cannot remember what age I was taught to knit by my Grandmother but stopped in the 80's when it went out of vogue and took up the many needle crafts which I do, I have also now started to crochet I have attend a few workshops, I crochet a blanket for my Jack Russell Penny.

I attend bead workshops in summer at Robin Hoods Bay which I have done for about the last 13 years, I have a rather large stash of beads. I was fortunate last year to attend 2 classes taught by American Bead Artist Melanie Potter and this year we are having Marcia Decosta coming to teach.

I also have the required sewing machine or two and enjoy making up projects I also dabble in quilting, I enjoy the piecing but I am not very good at the actual machine quilting and usually end up making small things which are easier to finish,

I have attended quite a few classes now with Stuart Hillard of Sewing Bee fame he live in our area and teaches at the Viking Loom in York,

the last class I did we made a bag.

I am also going to give away one of my thread catchers so please do leave a comment and a name will be picked out on the 15th Feb. Please leave your Blog and e-mail address if you want to be in the giveaway.

Gifted Gorgeousness

This is the 1st post for the Gifted Gorgeousness Sal found over on Serendipitous Stitching. I am stitching something for an exchange so can not really share it with you yet, I decided to go and dip into my UFO stash and see if I could find a gift that I had started to stitch and wanted to finish, I found this, my mother gave it to me for my birthday about 4yrs ago.

I do have a love for scissor keeps,  I have many pairs of scissor fancy that! So they all need a little adornment.

This is a little  beach hut by Sue Hawkins not much left to do just some french knots and assembling it.

Happy New Year

Last year when very fast, the older I get the quicker the years seem to go, reading everyone's blogs there are loads of sals and challenges to join, I would have loved to join stitch from stash but I do not think I could be stricked enough, I have plenty of stash I can use up so that is one of my goals this year to try and stitch some of what I have.
I have plenty of works in progress to complete as well. This will be my 1st the Christmas Advent Sal from iStitch.

I did decide to join the Gifted gorgeousness Sal anything which is stitched from the below list is included which I have plenty.

  • Any chart/kit which you won in a giveaway
  • Any chart/kit which you bought using a voucher given to you/won by you
  • Anything stitched on fabric received in the above ways
  • Anything stitched with floss received in the above ways
  • Anything embellished or finished with items received in the above ways
  • Anything which is intended as a gift or prize for another person
